Signatures Overview

Since Neverside doesn't support "Buddy Linking", we have signatures setup with some flexible options to allow users to advertise their site and so forth right in their posts. However, to assure that this does not get out of hand, the administration has set up some guidelines that will be split into 3 parts. One part, is images, another is text, and lastly, one is a combo of both.. simple enough.

We know you want to have a wallpaper as a sig, and some of you, if you're reading this, may just have had one! This basically is to let you know what we allow, and what we don't. Please, remember that signatures are a privilege, not a right. You can lose the ability to have a signature on Neverside.

Don't like signatures? Pop into your MyAccount > Options and simply disable viewing signatures. You may also disable viewing avatars. This will totally block any signature field entirely from every post.

Signatures are a big thing.. since it requires too much placement planning, and so forth, we are not doing the former 'buddy link' system we used to do as TutorialForums, however.. all threads/posts are now Search Engine Optimized, so it is possible for your links to get hits and so forth by just contributing. Read on to learn what you can & can't do with image sigs, and what you can & can't do with text sigs.

Graphical Signatures

Image Specifications

A signature is merely a mini-banner for you to advertise your blog, portfolio, services, whatever you may want to put there. If you want to make it graphical, it has to abide by this policy. The reason for this is, the fact that the site we'd like to keep quick loading, and huge sigs to download on every page of every thread, submission, etc. would just be absolutely insane. So, keeping it around this, will allow threads to continue loading quickly, without the thread lagging because of a sig taking forever to download.

You may have multiple images, under the circumstances that they do not exceed the height / width restrictions combined. You may use multiple images.

Text Signatures

We have a very open policy on our signatures for linking & quoting. Quoting as long as it is tasteful, is allowed. We do not permit the bashing of other members in signatures, it only leads to one thing.. a fight. Links, we allow any type of link to be in your signature except for any links leading to warez sites & pornographic sites. This includes sites that contain illegal torrents, usenet, etc.

If you have no image signature, a maximum of 4 lines are allowed in your signature of text. These can be links. A max of 4 links, we're not a free-for-all links directory. That makes 4 links total in your signature, and you can have text on the same line has the links, to explain the links, or just have quotes. You can variate how you have the links in anyway.. however, 4 is the max.

Combo Signatures

So, you want to have it your way, well this isn't Burger King, and frankly, those commercials suck. So do we allow you to mix it up? Yes, but it is very limited as we do not want the signature area turning into a website. Here are the basic guidelines:

A.) If you have a fullsize image signature.. you may have 1 line of text. While following the 4 links rule, you may have the 1 line contain all 4 links. No more than 1 line of text if you have an image signature, no exceptions.

B.) If you have a 88x31 button, or an image signature around the halfway mark in the max allowed, you may have upto 2 lines of text in the signature. All 4 links are still allowed.
